Apply this attitude to life, inspirational!!
Add what he said to everyday life, and you most certainly can't go wrong, the momentum and will, will get you there 👌
Respect to all soldiers not matter the country. (US army soldier )
Remember to fight for your comrades being taken to court 47 years after an incident, fuck officers, the class system and politicians. Never let them order you to fight civilians.
JOIN THE PARAS! LAY YOUR LIFE ON THE LINE DO AS YOU ARE TOLD AND BE PROSECUTED DECADES LATER FOR YOUR LOYALTY! YOU'D HAVE TO BE MAD TO JOIN THE BRITISH ARMY WITH SUCH WANKERS FOR POLITICIANS IN POWER WHO'LL ALLOW A LOAD OF TERORIST SYMPATHISERS TO PROSECUTE YOU FOR OBEYING ORDERS DECADES LATER WHILE THE TERRORISTS WALK FREE!
Rugby 08 music playing gives me nostalgia
god bless them all.
They got plenty of training in Ireland
Was in regiment from 1992 2010
Update: The Paras – Men of War, Thursday, Jan 10, ITV 9:00pm English time – a three part doc' . First new doc' on the regiment for 35 years! Utrinque Paratus!
And after passing the P Company, one gets to wear the fancy hat, not the crap hat.
Grungy 3 all the way 👍🏻
I notice the little joke (the scaffolding clips) are missing on the parallel bars… (2:16) . Elf and Safety innit? I remember Sgt Williams doing a handstand on them (summer 1974 -ish It was the year where there was a helicopter crash at the airshow…..and the SR71 did a display) – it was really windy at the time. That guy had what it took. I note the comments about P Coy being brutal. One lad (Gunner Reid ) was on his 13th (yes thirteenth) P Coy while I was there. Wonder if anyone here remembers him – and Captain Paddy Hoone ?
Having seen the soldiers of the American airborne troops, sorry but they just don't seem too be anywhere near the shape of the British Para's, had a couple of mates who became Para's and yea one was about 5'6 and the other one was a 6'2 …..both of them as game as f*$k.
Hello guys I,be sat in a F35b at RAF 100 horse guards parade
Being fit is important if you want to join the paras but you also need to be from a broken home, have autism, be mentally retarded, not know your dad, be raised in poverty, have a history of child abuse etc. Good luck future paras (ites)
JUST THE RIGHT STUFF, GOOD TRAINING INDEED
Sorry, but this is bullshit lol where is the 20 miler??? And the other tests on p company test week??? Trust me if your thinking of doing p company, it is alot more than this little video loool. The audacity 😂
Makes me proud to be 57% British, as an American who served in the United States Marine Corps.
Learn to fall out of a plane. There is nothing to it.
Soo disappointed that I'm an overweight 52 year old cos I quite fancy my chances except I suffer from vertigo too! Any chance of skipping through and taking an office job, still as a Para though? Maybe quartermaster? Go on, I've always fancied being one, if Jimmy Saville was oh, forget about it then.
I did the TVSB course and Passed with Flying Colours!!!
Fair play I'm not that keen on the paras but this guy knows is stuff
The truth in what he says is in committing yourself. Until you have made your mind up to do something, anything at all, you will never achieve it. Once you have decided to do it, you are 99% there. This applies to anything. It doesn’t have to be physical fitness at the level of the parachute regiment. It could be as simple as committing to run 5K a day, every day, no matter what. The first thing is start. The second thing is – finish. Starting is the hardest task. I truly believe this.
Normal infantry course is all ready hard enough. P company is brutal
The UK government are trying to combine the Royal Marines and the Paras into one unit destroying the ethos and prestige of these units. If this goes through there will be no Royal Marines or Paras. Sign the petition here https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/209564 we need 10k for parliament to acknowledge it and 100k for them to debate it but we only have 4k. Please stop this if you care about these units.
Done depot para in the shot ,,then monty lines ,the training started then .
50% fitness 50% mental determination. If you want it enough you will do it.Its one thing being a gym queen bashing out press ups and pull ups in front of a mirror in a warm gym.Being able to keep running when your body is screaming, that's what its all about.
Sorry but this is bullshit designed to sell a book. Nobody could get fit enough to complete P company in five weeks on their own initiative. Most soldiers who try it fail and many of them are already trained to a high standard of fitness,
Call me a "Corporal Blimp" but Depot PARA belongs in Aldershot! 😉 Credit due to subsequent Paras – they seemed to have made the Catterick area suitably miserable for the crows – but that steeplechase course doesn't look half as muddily deep as the one we "enjoyed" back in the day…
Too much talking for me
1 thing he said which is incorrect, it's not 50% fitness it is 10%physical fitness 90% mental. simple as that. because your mind is alot stronger than your body. by a long way.
No body mentioned long valley, Royal exchange bar when you could sit down and think what just happened.
I wish someone made a documentary on the Paras selection start to finish. I am really interested in knowing the ins and outs of P company and just general training.
3:55 is good life advice also.
well there goes every hope I ever had if joining the paras thank you for breaking all false hope I ever had
Hi Major McGrath my nephew is at this moment is at Catterick training to become a Para but with great regret he has had enough after 8weeks of humiliation and abuse this kid has been totally been destroyed can you please tell me how pouring coffee milk and sugar down his throat will make him a better man, cleaning his rifle for 4hours then having it thrown out the window to start again the list goes on and on 6 months of this to get his berry I don't think so
These guyes are not to fuck around with!
"Train for war, not exercise."
fuckin brilliant i really enjoyed the video i wish i knew major mcgrarth in 1980,i would of maxed out at 200percent,might of killed me but hey what a way to go.can anyone tell how do i get the book.from ex-ta/regs 24487882
I used to drink with a load of para's they were fucking nuts! They used to play a game called freckles where someone would shit on the table in the pub then they would all put there hands over it and eventually one of them would smack the shit and it would end with shit going everywhere!
the Real Deal
Proud to call my son a para 👍🏻
